Independence and Republic Day
The Organization celebrated the day with participation of Women, Youths,VDC Members, SHG Leaders, Forest land right Members, VSS Members, Farmers’ Club Members and Students at Pradhansahi of Satkosia Panchayat. The purpose of celebrating the day to educate them on political History of our Country as well as our State and how our fore Fathers have sacrificed their all the personal happiness and even life for an Independent nation and Development of its people. Hence, the Volunteers are already in community development process or the youths who have potentialities should understand there is not only meant for community development, but also nation building. The Students are our Future Pillar of the Country to Buildup in the Proper way.

World Labour Day
Deep observed the May Day at Pradhansahi field office with the participation of local youths, PRI representatives and members of DEEP had participated. Mr. Ganeswar Lenka spoke on the importance of the day that thousands of Labourers had sacrificed their life demanding their rights in America on the day. Even today the Labourers in the World are also struggling in different parts to ensure their rights. Hence, DEEP along with its members and community level Volunteers paid homage to the martyrs of 1st May movement. The purpose of observing the day is to inculcate the spirit of those martyrs among the workers/Volunteers of the Organization for initiating their effort for social transformation in the state. The Government has opened the Schemes for the Lab ours to do the work in their area under MGNREGA Programme at lest 100 days work in a year to a household as per the Government norms and the family got that money per house.

Gender Equity and Empowerment

Training Programme for Women
The Leadership Capacity Building training Programme was organized for women self-help groups. The women members were trained on topics like leadership quality, money lending and effect on family economy, present wage rate by government and how to demand for that. Government Programme like Antodaya,Arnnapurna Yozana, PDS,Indira Awas Yozana ,Horticulture Mission, Health Mission, Janani Surakshya Yozana, Balika Samurdhi Yozana, National Family Benefit Scheme, BPL. What is Gram Shabha & Pallishabha, Women participation in Gram Sabha, The objectives of the topics discussed are as follows:
To understand the different problems in the Village like money lending, proper wages, proper price for their collected forest produces and issues related to country liquor.
To know the different Government Schemes.
To build the confidence of women for participation in Palli Sabha, Gram Sabha meeting and make plan for the Village & GP.

Leadership Training to Mahila Mandal
DEEP had organized a 2-days leadership Training Programme at 2 no of Zones for the leaders of Mahila Mandal/SHG Groups. Total 71 no of Women Leaders had attended the Programme. The objectives of the Training Programme were to enhance the participation of women in village development committee meetings and expediting the development process of the community so also elevating the position of women in the community. Besides, the training was also given on management of thrift and credit society, their participation in socio-political issues of country liquor by the male members and different social security schemes of government meant for women welfare. The training Programme was successful in regard to the participation of the trainees.

Orientation on social security schemes for women and adolescent girls
The orientation training on social security schemes for women and adolescent girls was organized on dated 11-12th  January’ 2010 at pradhansahi, Satkosia. Total 39 no of adolescent girls and women had participated in the training Programme. Mr.Tarei Babu Pharmacist and ms sonali Majhi, ANM had imparted training as the resource persons. The objectives of the training were to make aware women and adolescent girls on different aspects of health and hygiene specially related to them and available different social security schemes of government for women and adolescent girls. The brochures of government on social security schemes were distributed among the participants.

Forest Land Rights Campaign
DEEP has been actively involved in the state and National Level NCSD campaign has been undertaking sensitization initiatives to submit land claim petitions  file to the District Forest Officer and District Collector as per the ACT -2006 of Forest Land Rights. Total 4023 numbers of petitions have been filed in the year of 2009-2010. Petitions filed as cumulative progress during the campaign process from 5 Gram Panchayats. The area covers 10 bits of the one range in the Panchapidi Karanjia in Mayurbhanj Forest Division.

Training and  Workshops 
DEEP has organized some training and workshops in the year-2009-2010 at Satkosia Office with the Participation of Local, Outsiders, PRI Representatives and Line Departments. With an Objective to discuss on National, State, District, Blocks and Panchayat Levels issues. The purpose of the Programme is to disseminate the information on issues of the country, state, District, Block and Panchayat for building up their Knowledge and leadership. The Programme is as follows:

Training on Capacity Building
DEEP has organized some training Programme on MGNREGA Issues, Good Governance, RTI, Social Audit, Education, Health, PRI, PESA and Social Security Schemes. The Participants from among the PRI Representatives, Community Leaders, Women Representatives from SHGs/Mahila Mandals, VDC members, People Organizations Representatives, Farmers and Youths were invited to the training Programme. The trained staff, Network Members and out side Resource Persons had imparted the training with the sharing of experiences of the real field experience of the participants. Workshop
DEEP has organized some workshops i.e. Interface workshop with Block Functionaries, Panchayat Level workshop on MGNREGA, RTI and Social Audit, Good Governance and Govt. Schemes, Sharing workshop on MGNREGA Issues and Block Level workshop on women Representatives. The Participants from among the PRI Representatives, Community Leaders, Women Representatives from SHGs/Mahila Mandals, VDC members, People Organizations Representatives and Youths were invited to the workshop. The Objectives of the Programme was to enhance the participation of women in village development and Pallisabha in decision making for expediting the development process of the community, so also to elevate the position of women in the community. The women members were trained on topics like leadership quality, money lending and its effect on family economy, present wage rate by the government and the way of  demanding it , Government programmes like Antodaya Anna Yozana, PDS, IndraAwas Yozana and National Family benefit schemes, BPL, Gram Sabha, women participation in Gram Sabha etc. The other Objectives of the workshops are as follows:

• To let them understand the different problems in the village like money lending, minimum wages, genuine price for their collected forest produces and issues related to country liquor.
• To let them know the different Government Programmes and Schemes.
• To build the Confidence of women for participation in Palli Sabha, Gram Sabha and planning for GP.

Campaign and Rallies
DEEP has been actively involved in the state and National level NCSD campaign for sensitization initiatives to aware tribal community on their customary rights over forestland and mobilized community to submit land claim petitions to the District Forest Officer and District Collector through various committees which has been declared by Central Govt. and State Govt. Total 4023 numbers of petitions have been filed in the year-2009 from Five Panchayats and Total 453 Families have been got the Forest Land Patta Records as per the Govt. Systems. The SHG federation groups have taken steps to check country liquor in the tribal areas. For that the groups have arranged rally on country liquor and gave the demand note to the Sub-divisional Officers, Block Officers and Police Department to stop the liquor business in their area. The villagers have organized campaign on MGNREGA Issues and gave the petitions to the Sarapanch for taking action and paying the wage in time as per the rule of MGNREGA. The villagers have organized campaign on social audit process and gave the petitions to the authority to take the action on Health and MGNREGA.

Village Level Meetings and Orientation
The Project Activities extended to additional 2 Panchayat in the year. DEEP had taken initiative to reorganize village Development Committees (VDC) in 63 villages. The stakeholders like village leaders, teacher, SHG Members, Anganwadi Workers, village Cadres’, Health Workers, Forest land right Members, VSS Members, VEC Members and  Farmers have been included in the VDCs and all the adult Members of the village are the general members. The VDC Member size is 7-15 members as per the Population of the village. Monthly Orientation meeting of VDCs were organized at Community level to build the capacity of the committee members for the management of people Organization, SHG groups, Village Funds, Anganwadi Centre, Education Centre and Know the Various Government Schemes , Programme, Planning Process and Information’s. Special focus was given to develop their village micro Plan, Know the Natural Resources and its Management, Know the various Programme i.e., MGNREGA Issues, Forest land rights Claim, Food Security and Social Security Schemes. DEEP has capacitated some leaders and groups for their self reliance for which they are demand their rights and have success.
